What a special time December holds for families with
young children!
I walked past the Santa at the mall today, with happy
memories and longing for the days when my now-grown
boys would wait eagerly in line to sit on his lap and make
their special requests. Now that magic has passed
for my family, but the warmth of traditions remains
throughout the season. Research has shown that
“meaningful rituals contribute to marital cohesion during
the transition to parenthood, encourage involvement of
older family members with children, and contribute to
the sense of identity of adolescents.”
We witness the importance of rituals every day when we watch the children confidently following the routines of greeting their teachers in the morning. Read More
